Words of Inspiration Book Club - Atlanta, Georgia

This book club was started to bring old friends together and foster new friendships around a common activity, reading. We embrace the concept of sisterhood and create a new literary circle. African American literature…romantic, robust, urban, poetic, cutting edge and mysterious…it is the African American experience. Words that bubble from the heart, mind, body and soul of its creators to be shared with those who have a love for reading. African American literature explains who we are as a people…and perhaps, shed light on our possibilities and opportunities.
This book club is devoted to providing a forum for African American women to come together for a common and primary goal…reading. We are able to share in fellowship and network with one another. The love we share for literature brings us together in harmony. We gather to love and respect each other as African American Sistahs. Therefore, we can agree to disagree in ideology as it pertains to book discussions. We understand that as human beings, we are not the same in mind, spirit, body or soul. We come together to chat, listen, reflect, renew, shout, and yes, eat and drink. As women, we are given the opportunity to discuss books in a friendly forum, while broadening our literary knowledge and being introduced to authors/books we may or may not normally be exposed to. Our minds are being opened to various genres and ideas. Sharing is our key exposure to things new and fresh!
We have also broadened our horizons to include travel!
