SHAWN , is a neo-soul, afrocentric private school teacher, with long flowing henna colored dreadlocks. But there's more than meets the eye with Shawn. She has a weed and alcohol habit that puts Snoop to shame, and she is letting her 4th graders run wild while she tries to smoke and sip life's problems away.
MEKKA is a bold, beautiful, sexy exotic dancer, who gets caught up in "the life" as she tricks more then she treats in her desire to create a better life for her children, but now homegirl is getting older, and she is realizing that with out an "exit" strategy the road she travels leads her nowhere.
Last but not least, is the lesbian and 'round the way girl', MELANIE dressed in baggy jeans, Timbaland boots, and sporting a ceasar faded haircut.
